Things to see and do

Locally, the main attraction is the glorious sandy beach, which on a sunny day, is perfect for paddling. There are also tennis courts, a childrens playpark and Kirkistown Castle Golf Course. The beach is easily accessed by visitors of all ages and levels of mobility thanks to recently installed boardwalks and there is a decked rest area that provides the perfect vantage point to enjoy breathtaking views over the coast.

Cloughey Beach

The local beach is one of the best on the Ards Peninsula and is popular with families and also as a stop-over for tourists covering the Mourne Trail.  Apart from watersports and strolling along the fine golden sands, the other attraction along the beach is the impressive Kirkistown Castle with its three-storey tower house.


From Bangor, the fastest route to Cloughey holiday village is via the A20. The journey time is around 35 minutes to cover the 20 miles from the city centre.
